According to DAP, the statutory declaration to remove Najib Razak as PM and retain Ku Li as PM definitely exists and all Opposition MPs are aware of it.

(FMT) – Anthony Loke has insisted that Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (Ku Li) had indeed circulated a statutory declaration (SD) against Prime Minister Najib Razak among Members of Parliament.

Speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby today, DAP National Organising Secretary Anthony Loke said “a representative from Tengku Razaleigh’s camp” had circulated the SD between July and September last year.

The DAP lawmaker was also adamant that not only did the document exist, but all Opposition MPs were aware of it, with one lawmaker allegedly meeting Ku Li.

“If he wants to deny it now, there is nothing we can do. That’s his business.

“There was an effort to get MPs’ support on this. Tengku Razaleigh’s camp had also asked us (DAP) to sign it.”

According to Loke, no DAP MP had signed the SD yet as they wanted to ensure there were enough parliamentarians supporting it.

Former Premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad recently said that Ku Li had been pushing for a no-confidence motion to oust Najib.

However, the Kelantan prince earlier today denied circulating the document and said he had no knowledge of the SD.

“I don’t want to say that he (Ku Li) is lying, just that (we are) disappointed,” Loke added.

Meanwhile, PKR’s Nurul Izzah Anwar refused to confirm or deny Ku Li’s involvement in the no-confidence motion, but said the latter had shown that he was not committed to national reforms which could only take place once Najib was removed.

“So whatever happened or did not happen in the past is not relevant,” she told FMT.
