PAC report on 1MDB done, Pua says
(MMO) – The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has completed its much-anticipated report on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and hopes to have it tabled in Parliament this Thursday, a member of the parliamentary committee said today.
The member, Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua, said the report was written with consensus among members of the bipartisan PAC and was finally completed after the panel held its longest meeting yesterday.
“The PAC completed the report last night and we hope the printing will be in time for the report to be tabled in Parliament on Thursday.
“That was the objective, that’s why we completed late night yesterday at 9pm,” the Petaling Jaya Utara MP told reporters here.
Pua confirmed the PAC report will quote the Auditor-General’s report on 1MDB, but said he did not know if the federal audit’s report will be tabled together in Parliament.
“That was not discussed,” he said when asked if the Auditor-General’s report will be tabled together.
Pua was asked if the completion of the PAC report on 1MDB meant that the committee will not call in more witnesses.
“We wanted to but ultimately we didn’t, but that one we discuss later after the report comes out,” he said.
