The tokong who is also a mortal and also a dirty rotten scoundrel?

We only expect this kind of sick revelation about dubious tactics to exploit opportunities to profit from the public trust entrusted to elected officials arising out of rogue circumstances, not from officials of a party like DAP which had been screaming their sufferings on behalf of victims of corruption and abuse of power. Now it looks like it’s revered leader may be a perpetrator of such acts himself.

Like many in his situation, resignation and going on leave while being investigated is out of the question to them. You sense anger and irritation at being found out. As if the circumstances surrounding the scandal would not have been incriminatory if it had been someone else and he, the onlooker. In Lim Guan Eng’s case, he had made a career out of pointing fingers at bastards. He is muckraking personified, God’s gift to the downtrodden.

In the Taman Manggis case, is he one of the bastards he was determined to expose all his life? We don’t know. Let the courts decide if it comes to that. It is too circumstantial but that hasn’t stopped LGE bitching when he was on the side of the accuser. It was only by his denials and untimely claims of ignorance that suspicions are raised. The latest being that he did not know that the land had been flipped for a huge profit.

He did not know? Isn’t it a part of the condition of sale that prior to project completion the state government has to approve the sale to a third party? It wasn’t part of the conditions, and KLIDC is still the owner, it seems. Which moron is it that doesn’t know that change of shareholders of a company owning land equates to change of ownership of the said land?

And it seems that the current practice of the Barisan Nasional government in protecting the sanctity of the objective of sale and alienation of public land is better than DAP’s practice which doesn’t give a damn what happens after the conditional sale. Watch out, all Malay reservation lands in Penang will be owned by Non-Malay-owned companies, if the stupidity of its CM is so glaring. We forget that he is only an accountant and is absolutely nothing else.

The BN had this case well-documented, meaning that they think LGE is a vulnerable target. Wonder why? He should not be a target – LGE the tokong is Mister Clean – and in all probability, it will be a waste of time. Is it? Futile witch-hunting. LGE is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, if prosecuted. Which is more than LGE would accord to some. While at it, why don’t LGE appoint his own prosecutor? Not his job? A federal thing, I see.

Don’t worry. LGE will not be losing his devotees soon. He was not elected because of his clean image. After all there’s already blotches to his so-called clean tokong image caused by mortal acts of indiscretions. No, he was elected because of his perspectives of racism. And by Malaysian standards that’s enough to override indiscretions. I guess when you make offerings of make-believe fruits to your tokong, make-believe promises are in order in reply.

Right now LGE is wishing he is swallowed by the bosom of the earth but he is awaiting Sakmongkol’s masterpieces on corruption in high places, if he dares!
