DAP’s solution to Sarawak seat mess: Don’t waste votes on PKR
(MMO) – Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen today offered opposition supporters a solution for the party’s clashes with PKR in six seats in the state election- just vote for DAP to avoid splitting votes.
“In the seats where DAP overlaps with PKR, I urge voters not to split their votes and focus on DAP. Don’t waste your votes on PKR,” Chong told a press conference here as his party came to terms with facing PKR in six state seats.
“But in seats where PKR alone is contesting, I urge all DAP supporters to vote for PKR,” he added.
Chong said that the Sarawak election will serve as a prequel to the 14th general election, and that the DAP will continue to increase its presence in the hornbill state.
“In 2006, we won six seats out of the twelve contested where else in the 2011 state elections we won 12 of the 15 seats contested.
“It is important for us to lay our foundation and for this upcoming election we are going to continue our unfinished business,” he said.
