“If you look at it, why has not one PKR politician been barred from entering Sarawak? Could it be because they are Azmin’s people?

(Malaysian Digest) – A PKR insider has raised the possibility that the PKR-DAP feud over seats in Sarawak is the result of a deliberate sabotage.

In an interview with local Sarawak news blog, hornbillunleashed.wordpress, the analyst confided that the “infighting have left its party president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s hands tied in the matter”.

The analyst cautioned that the ongoing feud between PKR and DAP will not end in on a good note as the eventual winner will be Barisan Nasional (BN) gaining more seats.

Pointing out that the agreement over assigned seats had been signed by none other than PKR deputy president Azmin Ali who was present at the meeting when the allocations was made, the analyst questioned Azmin’s conduct in turning his back on the agreement.

“Azmin and gang looks as though they are up to something when he decided to turn against an agreement after agreeing to contest in the respective seats allocated to PKR.

“To turn against the agreement could show that he has intentions to break Pakatan Harapan. There is no other way to look at this because PKR has broken a promise that is made to their Opposition colleagues,” says the PKR analyst.

Adding fuel to the deliberate sabotage theory, the analyst highlighted that Opposition leaders who are allowed into Sarawak are mainly PKR politicians.

“If you look at it, why has not one PKR politician been barred from entering Sarawak? Could it be because they are Azmin’s people?

“To put it harshly, the only reason to why this is happening is that Azmin is the sole instigator and he is in control of the Opposition’s position in Sarawak,” says the analyst.

Alleging that PKR made a deliberate wrong move in pitting their candidates against DAP, the analyst points out that the move was unneccesary as most of the seats did not have strong opposition presence and a win was unlikely so to field two opposition candidates only ensures a bigger majority to BN.

“Because these seats are speculated to be unwinnable, it looks as though BN only needs to sit back and win the seats effortlessly,” the analyst concluded.

Earlier the Selangor MB had issued a statement to reporters on nomination day which seem to indicate that the jury is still out on a final decision.

“When I spoke to Guan Eng on the phone at 10 last night, he did not say that one of us should back out – he wanted to continue discussion, so this is unfortunate,” Azmin told reporters on 25 April.
