Sarawak polls: Adenan slams arrogant DAP ‘young ones’
(The Star) – Tan Sri Adenan Satem (pic) is taking the fight to the DAP in its strongholds.
The Chief Minister came to Miri and said young DAP leaders in Sarawak today are getting arrogant and too proud of themselves.
“These young ones in Sarawak DAP think too highly of themselves.
“They think they are so good already. They go around criticising everything that we do.
“One of them who is only 25 years old has publicly proclaimed that he can be a better CM.
“I have been in politics and in the government administration for more than 40 years.
“I have held all sorts of posts in politics and government.
“These young DAP people are like little grandchildren to me, and yet they are so arrogant in Sarawak,” he said when addressing the Orang Ulu communities here on Monday.
Adenan said Sarawak DAP is so confident that it will be accepted by rural voters that it is going after the new seats of Mulu and Murum.
He said the state government has done much to improve the standard of life of rural folks and that is why Sarawak Barisan Nasional is confident that the Orang Ulu will remain loyal to Barisan.
He added that the Orang Ulu, who make up 6% of the state’s population, play a vital role in the social and economic arenas.
Adenan again pointed out that only Barisan can help the rural natives to develop their constituencies.
