Ku Nan: Muhyiddin, Mukhriz should be sacked from Umno

(MMO) – Umno rebels Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir should ideally be booted from the party, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said today.

The Umno secretary-general better known as Ku Nan stressed, however, that the decision now lies in the hands of the party’s Supreme Council, which will meet soon on the matter.

“We got the report already on TS Muhyiddin and Mukhriz. We will table it back to Supreme Council to decide. The disciplinary committee has put it back to the Supreme Council to decide,” he told reporters when met at the Parliament today.

“To me, I would have sacked them a long time ago,” Tengku Adnan added.

The Putrajaya MP said Muhyiddin who is Umno deputy president and Mukhriz, the former Kedah Mentri Besar were both facing action for appearing on a opposition platform.

Another known party rebel, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, however, will likely escape punishment as the Sabah leader has not openly aligned himself with the opposition.

“He doesn’t stand together with the opposition stage. There is some problem but there is still some leeway and things we can consider.

“But these two (Muhyiddin and Mukhriz) have stood with the opposition on the opposition stage. So, we can’t take it la,” he said.

Previously, Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said he would personally push for Muhyiddin and Mukhriz to be sacked from Umno for their relentless attacks on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
