Anwar confirms penned letter warning PKR against Dr M’s ‘agenda’
(MMO) – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed today that he had written a letter to caution PKR on its alliance with former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The PKR de facto leader and former deputy to Dr Mahathir said he had initially intended the letter only for the consumption of party leaders, but urged the public to read it since the contents have been leaked.
“Yes, I wrote it in court,” he told reporters in court here while being escorted by prison officials.
When asked about Dr Mahathir, Anwar said the issue of maintaining cooperation did not arise, but did not elaborate further.
He went on to say that the agenda of Dr Mahathir, who is leading the Save Malaysia movement comprising Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional (BN) veterans and civil society leaders to oust Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak from office, should not be followed.
“Don’t forget the agenda, not follow his agenda. Follow the people’s agenda. What about the prices of goods, what about education, what about IPPs (independent power producers)?
“Don’t follow the system of cronies and corruption and past cruelty — that is my message,” he added.
