DAP is an “arrogant party”, says PAS Youth chief Nik Abduh

Nik Abduh

(The Star) – DAP is an “arrogant party” and its members are not aware of it, lamented PAS Youth chief Nik Abduh Nik Aziz.

“When we were at peace with each other, we used to help,” he said.

But since the crisis that split PAS, Nik Abduh said “I was told that I was being arrogant. But they are unaware of their arrogance and they call me arrogant?”

“DAP is arrogant because it was they who started an attack against the PAS president?

“Who was it that split PAS until some of the PAS members became ‘drunk’ and moved to PAN (Parti Amanah Negara),” he told a press conference at the wing’s muktamar here on Wednesday.

He said it was the DAP which gave ‘alcohol’ to them until they established Amanah. “That is proof that DAP is arrogant,” he added.

Nik Abduh was responding to a comment by DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke who had challenged PAS to “prove its claims” of having “lend seats” to DAP and PKR during the 13th General Election.

For the upcoming parliamentary by-elections, Nik Abduh said there were no ‘borrowed seats.’

“All seats are the rights of the respective parties. So I’m using bahasa kiasan (a figure of speech).

“I salute YB (Anthony) Loke, his Malay is very good but he must learn bahasa kiasan. What I meant by ‘our seats’ are the seats where PAS has contested in and has built a following, regardless of whether we won or lost,” he said.

“We have met (contested) against DAP in a three-way fight.

“And when we chose not to contest, therefore, we gave way to DAP or PKR.

“Now we have to think about rebuilding the strength that we had but I am not saying that we are taking back all the seats, that issue is still in discussion at a higher level,” he said.

Nik Abduh added that the seats that PAS are contesting in would take into account the strength of the party’s machinery.

Loke, also Seremban MP, said that were no seat negotiations with PAS as there were no cases of overlaps between their two parties at that time.

He said PAS was free to contest in any seats but claimed it was an utter lie to say PAS had “loaned” seats to DAP.
