Mahathir; The Chess Master or The Master Manipulator!

Tun Mahathir has recently said that he has two (2) conditions which would need to be enacted before he was to return to Umno! (here)
The first is that Umno would have to get rid of party President and present Prime Minister Dutuk Seri Najib Razak.
The Second is the ambiguous; the party has to be restored to its normal state after the removal of the Prime Minister.
It is apparent from the first condition that Tun Mahathir is admitting that all of his and the opposition’s efforts to remove Prime Minister Najib Razak have failed and that the only hope is for Umno to carry out their (Opposition’s) dirty work!
It has become quite apparent that Tun Mahathir underestimated Prime Minister Najib’s resolve and the resolve of the people to not be coerced into helping overthrow an elected leader. In other words, there was not going to be ‘Kajang type Move’ to remove the Prime Minister in the manner by which former Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Seri Abd. Khalid Ibrahim was removed!
In the above paragraph, I had written that it has become apparent to Tun Mahathir, but I did not mention the Opposition. The reason is that Lim Kit Siang realized in mid 2015 that there was no way to remove Prime Minister Najib Razak from office. He only continued the exercise in futility because he realized that had nothing to lose. The addition of Tun Mahathir to the Opposition cause just provided the Opposition with an additional voice to chant the mantra that has already fallen on deaf ears!
The Opposition also needed someone to get them media coverage as no one post Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and pre-Tun Mahathir could draw any interest about the claims that were making against the Prime Minister.
The Opposition further believed that having Tun Mahathir voice join theirs would cause the rakyat to take heed and follow his call. The problem was that the rakyat quickly became aware that Tun Mahathir wasn’t all there with his 1MDB theories that sounded like nonsense!
It also does not help the overall cause when Tun Mahathir a one point showed support for opposing parties (Opposition and Team Barisan Nasional) for the same by elections.
Since then, he (Tun Mahathir) has come out of the ‘political closet in verbal and active support for Amanah! However, just as it is his style of late; Tun ‘M’ says that he would go back to Umno, if those conditions mentioned above are met!
Now unless his Opposition friends are in such dire straits for a figure head that they just don’t care; his (Tun Mahathir) willingness to drop them (Opposition) and return to Team Barisan Nasional has to be a little concerning! After all if he were to do that, he would start attacking the Opposition with the same veracity that he had in the past!
Tun Mahathir’s ‘Save Malaysia’ would then be ‘Save Malaysia’ from the DAP and the rest of Pakatan Harapan!
