Mahathir’s conditions rejected by Rahman
(FMT) – Umno Supreme Council member says party open to welcoming back the former PM provided there are no pre-conditions to his return.
Umno Supreme Council member Abdul Rahman Dahlan has rejected the conditions set by former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad for his return to the party.
Instead, Rahman said the party was open to accepting Mahathir back into Umno minus any talk of conditions.
“I think we have arrived at a point where we are no longer angry, only sad to see a statesman like him making a 180 degree turn by supporting the Opposition.
“It’s alright, we’ll wait. The Deputy Prime Minister (Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) has extended a hand to him (Mahathir) to return to Umno but it’s alright.
