Is Muhyiddin’s affair the funeral rites for Mahathir’s ANC?
Mahathir should not interfere in the divorce proceedings. Allow this case to go on next week so that the world can know the truth. The local and international media are already waiting in full force to cover this hearing. As Mahathir is so fond of saying: he only wants to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help him God.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
There are a few things we have learned from the Americans such as ‘friendly fire’ and ‘collateral damage’. You will not find this in Sun Tzu’s Art of War, though. This is only in the modern art of war where sometimes you need to (or mistakenly) shoot your own people to kill the enemy and they become collateral damage.
Take, for example, a plane that has been hijacked and is heading for the White House. It has about 100 other people on board but then you need to consider whether to bring down that plane and kill 100 innocent people in the process or allow that plane to destroy the White House. The choice would be to bring down that plane and save the White House.
That brings us to the question of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s running mate in the ANC (Anti-Najib Campaign), Muhyiddin Yassin. Is Mahathir going to throw him under the bus and sacrifice him as collateral damage? Or will Mahathir try to save his sorry behind by getting the divorce case settled out of court with an under the table payment?
It is actually too late for both. Even if Mahathir throws Muhyiddin to the dogs the ANC is still going to get hurt. The whole world already knows about the divorce case that implicates Muhyiddin in an affair with a married woman. So the damage has already been done even if they try to hush the whole thing up.
If you look at the court calendar below you can see that the case has been slotted for four days next week (20th, 21st, 23rd and 24th June 2016). However, today, the lawyer is applying to withdraw from the case. That would mean they would need to appoint a new lawyer so the case scheduled for next week would have to be postponed after all. This is actually a common trick to delay court cases and is often used.
This would give Mahathir a bit of time to figure out what to do. No doubt many now know of this case but to allow it to go on would be most damaging to the ANC because more gory details will be revealed during the examination and cross-examination.
Currently, all that is known is that a couple is getting divorced and the reason for this divorce is that the wife is having an affair with Muhyiddin. The gory details are not mentioned in the Statutory Declaration other than all this would be presented verbally with supporting documents in court.
That means there is more to this story, which I was told involves sex parties and orgies and so on. And once this case goes to court all this is going to come out and that would more or less mean the funeral rites for the ANC.
Mahathir knows it is too late to save Muhyiddin. Muhyiddin is already badly damaged goods and is beyond repair. The only thing that Mahathir can try to do is to jettison Muhyiddin from the plane without allowing it to crash to the ground.
If this case goes to court on Monday, and next week over four days the details of what was going on gets reported by the local and international media, who are going to be there in full force, Mahathir might as well close shop and end his dream of ousting Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak — so that he can be replaced with a proxy Prime Minister with Mukhriz as the Deputy Prime Minister.
Have you noticed that not a single person from the ANC or from the Collaboration of Hope (Pakatan Harapan) has said one word regarding this case? If not Tony Pua and Rafizi Ramli would be foaming at the mouth and barking like mad dogs by now.
Why are Tony Pua and Rafizi Ramli keeping quiet? Is Muhyiddin not an Umno man and the Deputy President of the party on top of that? And is not Umno the enemy of PKR, DAP and Pakatan Harapan? So why are Tony Pua and Rafizi Ramli not uttering a single word since they are only interested in the truth?
They said Tony Pua and Rafizi Ramli are only interested in justice and the truth. And that is why they are harping on 1MDB, Najib, Rosmah Mansor and so on. This is not personal. This is only about the truth. But then when it comes to Muhyiddin they do not want to know the truth. Why?
Rafizi wants to debate Rosmah. Why does he not debate Muhyiddin and ask Muhyiddin to reveal the truth about his affair with another man’s wife? Tony Pua wants to debate Arul Kanda. Why not he debate Mahathir regarding the old man’s proposed proxy Prime Minister who is now implicated in a scandal with someone else’s wife?
Mahathir should not interfere in the divorce proceedings. Allow this case to go on next week so that the world can know the truth. The local and international media are already waiting in full force to cover this hearing. As Mahathir is so fond of saying: he only wants to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help him God.
