Blogger challenges former DPM to sue the woman he is alleged to have had an affair with

(FMT) – Blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has challenged former Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to sue the woman in the centre of an alleged scandal involving him if he wants his name cleared.

In his latest post in Malaysia Today, Raja Petra said there was “no other way” for the suspended Umno deputy president but to take legal action to prove his innocence as the woman’s husband had made a statutory declaration (SD) that his wife was having an affair with Muhyiddin.

He added that the SD was based on the wife’s claims.

“So, Muhyiddin, if you are really innocent and are a victim of slander, as you say, then sue. And you have to sue (name of woman given) since she is the one who made that allegation.”

The Pagoh lawmaker had yesterday dismissed allegations – made in a series of blog entries in Malaysia Today – that he was having an affair with the wife of a judge as “unfounded and ill-intended.”

Raja Petra went on to stress that Muhyiddin “cannot not sue” as inaction could give the impression that the allegation was true and that he had not been slandered.

A similar presumption – where inaction was tantamount to admission of guilt – he pointed out, was adopted by detractors of Prime Minister Najib Razak after several publications accused Najib of being responsible for debts amounting to RM42 billion allegedly accrued by 1Malaysia Development Berhad.

The ball, Raja Petra said, is now in Muhyiddin’s court.

“Sue or be damned forever.”
