Islam is NOT a religion of peace

All those who create obstacles for Muslims and block Muslims from practicing their religious beliefs — such as implementing the Syariah (like what DAP, PKR, PAN, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, etc., are doing) — are guilty of obstructing Muslims and hence can be considered enemies of Islam who Muslims can declare war on.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

There were one or two very outraged Muslims who did not take too kindly to my previous article ‘The reason Islam calls you Kafir’ (READ HERE). They feel I have twisted or distorted what the Qur’an says and that my knowledge of the Qur’an is too weak to talk about such matters.

The problem is, these people think that when we say ‘fight’ or ‘war’ this means riding a camel and brandishing a sword and cutting off the heads of the infidels (kafir). Or maybe you bomb a bus full of schoolchildren or massacre an office full of journalists and cartoonists who insulted Prophet Muhammad.

No, today wars and fighting are done differently. You no longer need to visit Ahmad the local camel dealer or order your head chopper from Amazon. In this modern world we have different ways of fighting and warring. And you need not fire a single bullet to fight and war and still defeat your adversary or get defeated.

Anyway, before that, read verses 190-194 of Surah Al-Baqarah, chapter two of the Qur’an.

Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors. (2.190) And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers. (2.191) And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (2.192) Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah . But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors. (2.193) [Fighting in] the sacred month is for [aggression committed in] the sacred month, and for [all] violations is legal retribution. So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is with those who fear Him. (2.194)

Notice that the Qur’an gives you many situations when you can fight or go to war.

‘Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors’. ‘…expel them from wherever they have expelled you’. ‘…fitnah is worse than killing’. ‘So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you’.

In essence, the Qur’an says that you may fight to end discrimination, oppression and persecution and to ensure that you are allowed to freely practice Islam. You may also fight against the negative propaganda war they wage against you or the economic war they subject you to. So fighting and wars are not just military in nature. There is also media war, propaganda war, economic war, etc.

Of course, many apologists would say you must not start wars but if someone else attacks you first then you must defend yourself.

But then what do you mean by attack? Attack only with guns and bombs? America attacked Cuba by imposing trade sanctions and embargoes on that nation, which brought Cuba’s economy to a standstill and made Cubans suffer for 50 years. Of course, America would have liked to send in its army to attack Cuba and kick out Castro. But then the US was engaged in another war (a Cold War with Russia) so they could not take that risk in case a nuclear war breaks out.

So, technically, the US was at war with Russia and with its satellite state, Cuba. Then, not long after that, the US went into another war with Russia and they fought that war in Vietnam. But it was another form of war, a proxy war.

More recently, the US declared war on terror. That, of course, was soon after 911. But, until today, we still do not know whether that was merely a false flag operation, just like Hitler’s burning of the Reichstag building in 1933. In fact, there are some who even believe that May 13 in 1969 was a false flag operation as well.

So, those Muslims who commented in my previous article have a very limited understanding of the ways of the modern world. In the old days it was very straightforward. You fight for territory and/or wealth. Today, you fight for or against many things.

You fight against colonialism. You fight against imperialism. You fight against persecution. You fight against racism. You fight against corruption. You fight against abuse of power. You fight against crime. You fight against child abuse and child prostitution. You fight against terrorism. You fight for equality. You fight for human rights. You fight for your right to be gay. You fight for your right to be heard. You fight for your right to vote. You fight for free and fair elections. You fight for religious freedom or freedom of worship. You fight for your right to practice your religion the way you want to. You fight for your right to believe. You fight for your right to not believe. You fight for your right to speak. You fight for your right to insult Prophet Muhammad. You fight for your right to ridicule religion.

No doubt the Qur’an does not list down these rights and forms of persecution in detail like the way I have in the paragraph above. But then the Qur’an also does not say that if you were to drive a car recklessly and while drunk and you kill someone you can get punished. Where does it say in the Qur’an that if you kill someone while drunk driving you will be punished and what that form of punishment should be? So does it mean if it is not in the Qur’an (or even in the Hadith) then no one can take action against you?

You might argue that Muslims must not drink and so they can get punished for drinking. The Qur’an also says that if you accidentally kill someone you can offer compensation to the family. But what if the driver is not a Muslim? Can you impose Qur’anic laws on non-Muslims and if not then does that driver get off scot-free?

So Islam is not a religion of peace. Islam has many strict rules and regulations and it declares war and fights against those who breach these rules and regulations.

If you are a Muslim and you sleep with someone who is not your spouse they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a Muslim and you drink and/or gamble they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a Muslim and you enter into a gay partnership they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a Muslim and you renounce Islam they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a Muslim or non-Muslim and you declare that Prophet Muhammad is not a Prophet of God but in fact Jesus was the last Prophet they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a Muslim or non-Muslim and you declare that the Qur’an did not come from God but was a creation of Muhammad they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a Muslim or non-Muslim and you declare that the Qur’an was not revealed by God but was inspired by Satan they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a Muslim or non-Muslim and you declare that the pilgrimage is a pagan ritual from pre-Islamic days and that those who do the so-called pilgrimage are pagans they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a non-Muslim and you invite a number of Muslims to church and convert them to Christianity they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a non-Muslim and you declare that the Qur’an is wrong about Jesus not being the Son of God they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a Muslim or non-Muslim and you declare that Muhammad invented Islam by stealing teachings and doctrine from Judaism and Christianity to manufacture Islam they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

If you are a Muslim and you divorce and you convert to another religion and you convert your children who you have custody of also to another religion they will not leave you in peace. They will take action against you.

So how can you say Islam is a religion of peace? There are many things you must do and cannot do and if you breach these rules they will not leave you in peace. So stop trying to kid yourself. More importantly, stop lying.

Oh, and all those who create obstacles for Muslims and block Muslims from practicing their religious beliefs — such as implementing the Syariah (like what DAP, PKR, PAN, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, etc., are doing) — are guilty of obstructing Muslims and hence can be considered enemies of Islam who Muslims can declare war on.
