Finally the long awaited and anticipated sacking of both Mukhriz Mahathir and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has finally taken place as Team Barisan Nasional is reviving up its engine in preparation for GE14!

As for their sacking, both Mukhriz and Muhyiddin have only themselves to blame for how things turned out.  Muhyiddin wanting the fast track to becoming number one, he aligned himself with those who he believed could make his wish come true.  However this move on his (Muhyiddin) part was like a tortoise that foolishly stretched its neck too far out under a guillotine.  When the blade came down, the tortoises head could be seen spinning around and around.

That was the saga of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin upon first being removed as Deputy Prime Minister.  He was in shock as he believed that the storyline was to have played out differently.  Muhyiddin Yassin thought that he could champion a false 1MDB charge against Prime Minister Razak causing him (the Prime Minister) to resign in shame.  Then Muhyiddin envisioned himself being hoisted up on the shoulders of bipartisan Members of Parliament hailing him as the man who saved Malaysia! I guess the Tan Sri forgot that his secret boss (Tun Mahathir) already coveted the ‘Save Malaysia’ title!

As Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s head continued to spin, he knew that it wasn’t a matter of if, but when he would be sacked from Umno.   I suggested that Muhyiddin should not play Russian roulette (here).

For months his political career was on borrowed time and the clock never stopped ticking!

Young Mukhriz Mahathir did not fare any better than Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.  The former Kedah Menteri Besar could have waited patiently for his time to move up the party ranks, but instead was ill-advised to join in his father and the Opposition attack against Prime Minister Najib Razak!  He and his father (Tun Mahathir) probably thought that they would mount pressure on the Prime Minister to resign from both outside the party (Tun Mahathir) and (Mukhriz) inside!  Why else would both Mukhriz stay, if not to try an exert pressure from the inside where he also hoped to solicit recruits for his father’s cause!

Of course Mukhriz will claim he did not follow his father’s footsteps out the door because of his love for Umno!  This ‘love’ was in overdrive after the Pakatan Harapan lost the twin by-elections in Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar.

After the loss, Mukhriz realized that his father lost the referendum and with it any hope he (Mukhriz) had of getting his fantasy of become Prime Minister back on track!
