It’s obviously Ahmad Zahid, making vrooom for Harith

(Bernama) – Umno vice-president and deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi spent one hour on the Obviously Harith Iskander talk show last night, talking about various topics including his passion for superbikes, political stance and family.

Making his entrance with a Harley-Davidson big bike, Zahid then shared his passion on superbikes with the audience.

“I started riding bikes in 1973 when I enrolled in Universiti Malaya. My first bike was a Yamaha 250cc, a gift from my late father.

“Even when I graduated, I did not buy a car, I bought a scrambler, my girlfriend who is now my wife was very keen on both, the bike (and me),” saying that he is the president of the Superbikers Association of Malaysia (SAM).

Responding to a question by Harith on the sacking of two Umno senior members yesterday, Zahid said Umno members must be loyal to the party.

He stated that he was loyal to the party even after he was detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) in 1998.

“I am patient, I follow the wave, I am loyal to the party and now I am here… loyalty is important,” he said.

He added that politics nowadays was more sophisticated with new challenges that needed to be addressed especially when involving the young generation.

“The mindset has changed, the emotional part of them has also changed because they are bright, more critical, this is what we call Gen Y and Gen Z,” he said.

During the talk show on Astro Awani, Zahid was presented with a cake in conjunction with the father’s day celebration by his grandchild because he was not able to celebrate it on the day itself due to his busy schedule.

The talk show also featured stand-up comedy artist, Butch Bradley and Dasha Logan, the daughter of the late Alleycats vocalist Loganathan Arumugam.
