Selangor’s Perangsang pays almost RM700,000 in tithes

Annual zakat contributions by state government-linked company and its subsidiaries presented to Selangor Sultan.

(FMT) – Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor (Perangsang Group) and its subsidiaries today paid the Selangor Tithe Board (Lembaga Zakat Selangor) a total of RM686,861.13 in tithes.

In a ceremony held at the Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, today, Perangsang Group Chairman, Raja Dato’ Idris Raja Kamarudin presented a cheque for the amount to HRH the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.

Also present to witness the handing over of the cheque were Selangor State Islamic Religious Affairs Exco, Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, Selangor State Secretary Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya, Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) Chairman Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa, and the Selangor Tithe Board Chairman Syed Anwar Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail.

Sultan Sharafuddin later presented Aidilfitri tokens worth RM500 to 227 under-priviliged families as well as 150 Muslim converts.

Perangsang Group is a Selangor government-linked company.
