Special officer says former deputy prime minister had never received an invitation.

(FMT) – Muhyiddin Yassin is not making an appearance at a forum called Nothing to Hide 2.0 scheduled to take place tomorrow, his aide said today.

He claimed that Muhyiddin had never received any invitation from the forum organisers, Malay rights group Jaringan Melayu Malaysia.

However, Jaringan chief secretary Hamdan Mohd Salleh told FMT that an invitation had been sent to Muhyddin and former Umno divisional leader Khairuddin Abu Hassan, and that the event would proceed.

Muhyiddin was expelled from Umno last month, almost a year after he was dismissed from the Cabinet, for raising questions about Umno president Najib Razak and the government’s investment company 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

Images of the JMM invitations have been circulating online since last week. The card features Muhyiddin and Khairuddin as speakers.

Muhyiddin’s special officer, Mohd Nardin Awang, said that Muhyiddin had never received any invitation from Jaringan Melayu Malaysia.

Nardin believed that the programme that has been circulated is fake and it is circulated by irresponsible quarters aiming at confusing the public and to tarnish Muhyiddin’s good reputation.

JMM secretary Hamdan said the forum is set to proceed. “We invited Muhyiddin, JMM president Azwanddin Hamzah and Khairuddin,” he said when contacted by FMT.

Azwanddin also noted that the “Nothing to Hide 2.0” forum is currently under surveillance by certain quarters and added that it is a “hot” news in Ampang and Pandan. However, the programme will still proceed as usual, Azwanddin said.

“The forum will go ahead as planned. It was agreed upon by Muhyiddin. We will proceed because the invitations had been sent,” he said.

The forum is scheduled for 3pm tomorrow at Kelab Darul Ehsan in Ampang, Selangor.
