JAIS gives Lim Kit Siang a tight slap

DAP appears bent on declaring war against anything Islam and yesterday they received a tight slap in the sermons all over Selangor under the directive of JAIS, which expressed support for Hadi’s Syariah Amendment Bill. This is probably the biggest blow so far and it is not yet clear whether DAP is going to retaliate by attacking the Sultan like they did regarding the Selangor MB issue.

NO HOLDS BARRED

The Selangor religious department — Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS) — in its own clever way has given Lim Kit Siang and DAP a tight slap on the face when it thanked PAS (or rather its President Abdul Hadi Awang) for tabling the Syariah Amendment Private Member’s Bill in Parliament.

Of course, the Bill may not actually get majority support and may, in the end, be defeated. But that is another matter. The important thing is the Bill has been tabled. So man’s duty has been done and the rest is entirely up to God. As PAN leader Nizar Jamaluddin would say: it is now all up to God’s intervention. So if the Bill gets defeated then God wants it defeated, using Nizar’s logic.

This was what the Malay Mail Online reported yesterday:

Selangor religious authorities today urged Muslims celebrating Hari Raya to express gratitude over the tabling of PAS’s private member’s Bill to enhance the powers of the Shariah courts.

In the second of two sermons prepared by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), it also took a swipe at Sisters in Islam, thanking the civil courts for not accepting the Muslim group’s bid to challenge a fatwa declaring it deviant.

“We are truly grateful in our victory in tabling the motion for the Enactment of the Bill of Shariah Court (Criminal Jurisdiction) (Amendment) 2016 in the Parliament, solely to uplift the prestige of the Shariah courts in this country.

“We are also grateful with the decision reached by the High Court’s Appellate and Special Powers Division is rejecting the request by Sisters in Islam in challenging the consensus reached by the Selangor Fatwa Committee regarding liberalism in the state of Selangor…” said the sermon read out in state mosques on the first day of Hari Raya.

It then urged Muslims to set aside their differences and unite to uphold the faith and Shariah, or the Islamic “path”.

Note the use of the word victory in that sermon (kutbah), a word you would use in a struggle, war or fight situation. Also important is the part where the sermon says: It then urged Muslims to set aside their differences and unite to uphold the faith and Shariah, or the Islamic “path”.

And this is something that the non-Muslims do not seem to understand one bit. The sermon was a veiled statement telling Muslims that the Syariah is under attack from the non-Muslims. Even though the word war was not uttered, it was certainly implied.

Islam comes under the Rulers. So in Selangor’s case that would be HRH the Sultan of Selangor. For JAIS to ensure that yesterday’s sermons all over the state mentioned the Syariah Amendment Bill meant this had the tacit approval of the Palace.

DAP has been rubbing the Sultan the wrong way the last couple of years, as have the Evangelist Christians, many who are DAP leaders, members and supporters. The Christians have been actively trying to convert Muslims (which is a crime in Malaysia) and they insist on using ‘Jesus the Son of Allah’ in the Bahasa Malaysia Bibles (yet another crime under Selangor law).

Then DAP defied the Sultan in the choice of the new Selangor Menteri Besar to replace Khalid Ibrahim. And when PAS refused to also defy the Sultan, DAP attacked HRH and kicked PAS out of Pakatan Rakyat and formed Pakatan Harapan minus PAS.

At first they tried to oust Hadi in the party election. When that failed, DAP formed a new so-called Islamic party called PAN and they used that party to replace PAS in the new opposition coalition.

It is known that most DAP people are socialists and republicans. But they might find it dicey if they openly attack the Sultan with race relations already being so bad as it is and with the danger of attacks and bombings from terrorists aligned to the Islamic State or ISIS/ISIL.

Talking about terrorist attacks, Najib Tun Razak’s Hari Raya open house saw tight security yesterday against the backdrop of the threat from IS terrorists — who warned that the Prime Minister and his Cabinet are targets for assassination. The security was not as tight as those of foreign leaders, though (especially from the west).

Nevertheless, these new security measures upset Australian citizen Hussein Abdul Hamid, cousin to the late Tun Endon Mahmood Ambak, wife of ex-Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi — who mocked Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak in his blog yesterday.

Hussein, who blogs as steadyaku47, felt that the tight security should not be imposed for Hari Raya open houses and those 75,000 people yesterday should have just been allowed to come in and out at will, even if it results in the death of the Prime Minister.

Well, let us see whether Lim Guan Eng is going to do away with his security next Chinese New Year and allow every man and his dog free access to his residence. It would be funny if Guan Eng gets blown up into smithereens by a bomb just so that he can make Hussein Hamid who lives in Australia happy.

I suppose if Guan Eng follows what Hussein Hamid wants and they do away with the security, and Guan Eng gets killed, then he would really be a clown and that picture below would be most apt.
