Sarawak Report has misled public on 1MDB, says Salleh Said Keruak
(Bernama) – Sarawak Report is oblivious to the fact that the Auditor’s Report on 1MDB is just one of the many sources that the Public Accounts Committee used in its deliberations to come up with the final report, said Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
“We could allow Sarawak Report the benefit of doubt in that they were misinformed or were not aware of this very crucial fact. If they were aware of this then Sarawak Report would be guilty of misleading the public because what they told the public is very far from the truth,” said Salleh today in his blog.
In fact, the Auditor General’s report is incomplete because it only addresses one aspect of 1MDB and the complete report is the one from PAC because it not only took into account the Auditor General’s report but all other information gathered.
Salleh said that the Sarawak Report story also compromised the integrity of PAC members, some of whom were from the opposition.
Sarawak Report is insinuating that there has been a cover-up by the PAC and that the PAC members, those from the opposition included, were not being truthful about what they discovered.
“Is Sarawak Report questioning the honesty of PAC members,” he asked.
On Thursday, the London based whistleblower site Sarawak Report made another so-called revelation of what it claimed to be important excerpts from the classified Auditor General’s report relating to 1MDB investigations.
