Too Late For Umno Cast Offs (Mukhriz and Muhyiddin) To Reinvent Themselves!
The Malaysian Observer
The principle roles in Tun Mahathir’s new party will have him as the bride, while his son Mukhriz Mahathir and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin serve as the maids in waiting.
Waiting for what you ask? Waiting for their chance to be the ‘the bride’.
Both Mukhriz and Muhyiddin need the new party to do for them what they could not acquire in Umno and that is for a little lustre to be added to what has been their lack lustre political careers. What both Mukhriz and Muhyiddin have in common is that neither of them have any semblance of charisma nor do they have what it takes to inspire a crowd not to mention a nation. They are the guest at a dinner that no one notices.
Tun Mahathir had what it took to move people, but the flame that was once bright has faded years ago. He is now like a car running on fumes as it sputters down the road. The only thing Tun Mahathir has going for him these days is name recognition which is at least good (for now) to get the press to show up to hear what he has to say.
Mukhriz and Muhyiddin Yassin are probably hoping Tun Mahathir has enough petrol left to at least get them beyond the starting line as both of them realize without Tun Mahathir they lose all significance.
And let’s face it; Tun Mahathir’s significance these days is about three (3) on a scale from 1 to 10 with one (1) being low and ten (10) being high. These days giving Tun Mahathir three may be a little too high as he cannot make a ripple in the political pool that he still believes he can wade in.
Still Tun Mahathir having three (3) is better than the alternative for Mukhriz and Muhyiddin. The alternative would be for them living the life of political castaways after having losing their political home with Umno.
Even the Pakatan Harapan component parts do not want them and the bridge back to Umno has a do not return sign placed on it.
Mukhriz and Muhyiddin are hoping that Tun Mahathir’s new party will offer them a platform whereupon they can reinvent themselves. However, from a life’s perspective, the two of them can only be what they are; scenery which was once propped up and has since lost the prop (Umno) which held them up. Now the two (2) of them (Mukhriz and Muhyiddin) along with Tun Mahathir are jumping here and there hoping to be noticed.
For all of their jumping around together hand in hand with Pakatan Harapan, their collective efforts still could not galvanize the rakyat to take part in their Malaysia styled coup d’état.
