Police record Khairul’s statement on conspiracy allegation

(Bernama) – The police have recorded the statement of Umno Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun over a police report he made earlier alleging there was a conspiracy by three individuals to topple Prime Minister Najib Razak and the government.

Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said police recorded the statement from Khairul Azwan at the Bukit Aman Police headquarters here today.

“Yes, we recorded a statement from him (Khairul Azwan) this morning, and the investigation on the matter continues,” he told Bernama when contacted.

Last Tuesday, Khairul Azwan lodged a police report against former Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail; former Bank Negara Governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz; and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Chief Commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed.

In the report, made at the Dang Wangi District Police headquarters, Khairul Azwan alleged the three were suspected of being involved in a conspiracy to topple Najib and the government.
