Mahathir warded at IJN for chest infection
(Malaysia Outlook) – Former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has been admitted to the National Heart Institute for treatment of chest infection, The Star Online reported.
According to a statement from Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Mahathir is expected to be kept under observation for the next few days.
“Tun is currently admitted in the general ward and based on the medical team’s advice, visitation is strictly for close family members only,” the statement said.
He was last hospitalised in 2010 while in Australia for a chest infection and in 2013 at IJN for similar treatment.
