Rulers only given respect if they oust the PM
So the Chinese and Indians and Pakatuns and ANC (Anti-Najib Campaign) and Malaysiakini readers can take their respect and shove it up where the sun does not shine. The Rulers will not sack Najib mainly because they do not want Mahathir’s proxy to take over as Prime Minister with his son, Mukhriz, as Deputy Prime Minister.
NO HOLDS BARRED

Yesterday, Malaysiakini said, “Respect for monarchy falls on how it responds to our crises.” Malaysiakini further said:
When the news broke out that Amanah Youth had submitted a memorandum to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, urging the ruler to instruct Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to resign over the 1MDB issue, I was surprised that it attracted over 5,800 shares on Facebook.
It clearly shows two things. One of it, at least among Malaysiakini readers, is that Amanah is preferred compared with the Islamist party PAS. In the past, cooperation between Pakatan Rakyat and PAS was because of the faces of the progressives within PAS.
Names like Mohamad Sabu, Khalid Samad and Mujahid Yusof Rawa will still bring a cheer to many Pakatan supporters, including the Chinese and the Indians, whenever they appear on stage.
So there you have it. If the Rulers want to be respected then they must first sack Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak. If not then the people who hate Najib are not going to respect the Rulers.
I remember once when Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah was said to be have been robbed of the Umno Presidency — and at the same time the post of Malaysian Prime Minister — because, according to him, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad cheated in the party elections.
People were very angry, even non-Umno people and non-Malays, because they wanted Mahathir out and they wanted him replaced with Tengku Razaleigh. In fact, they brought this matter to court and Mahathir punished them by deregistering Umno and by forming a new Umno so that all his enemies could be denied entry into the new Umno.
I suppose that is one way of getting rid of your enemies. Close down the party and form a new party and don’t allow your enemies to join the new party.
Anyway, the then Sultan of Kelantan, who was Tengku Razaleigh’s cousin-in-law, was so upset that he openly campaigned for the opposition. The result was that Tengku Razaleigh’s party, Semangat 46, and their coalition partner, PAS, won the State of Kelantan in the general election two years later.
And this made Mahathir and Umno very angry. Rulers are not supposed to get involved in politics. Rulers cannot try to oust the Prime Minister. Rulers do not have the power or authority to sack, remove or replace the Prime Minister. And because the Sultan of Kelantan wanted Mahathir ousted he was whacked good and proper.
Anwar Ibrahim, the then Finance Minister, retaliated by accusing the Sultan of Kelantan of trying to smuggle a Lamborghini into the country without paying the import duty and taxes. Anwar then asked the Customs to impound the car at Subang Airport, which they did.
Actually Anwar lied. Rulers and their Regents are allowed to import a certain number of cars tax-free. This is decided and approved by the Royal Council, so the Sultan cannot simply do as he likes. So the Sultan of Kelantan was not smuggling. But Anwar told the country that the Sultan was a smuggler.
Yes, and this is the same Anwar Ibrahim who whacked the Sultan of Kelantan for supporting Tengku Razaleigh who wanted to oust Mahathir and who is now angry with the Rulers for not supporting Mahathir who wants to oust Najib.
They really have to make up their minds. Do they want the Rulers to play politics or do they want the Rulers to remain above politics? You cannot today say join us to oust the Prime Minister and then the next day tell the Rulers to stay the hell out and don’t try to oust the Prime Minister.
Malaysiakini says if the Rulers do not join Mahathir in ousting Najib then they are not going to be respected. Do you think the Rulers really care whether the Chinese and Indians and Malaysiakini readers respect them or not?
The military comes under the Rulers. While the Police takes orders from the Minister, the military takes orders from their Commander-in-Chief and not from the Minister. So the Rulers can easily take over and change the Prime Minister if they really want to, like what they do in Thailand.
