Amanah proposes Dr Mahathir contest in Putrajaya
Putrajaya Amanah is willing to organise a dialogue in the form of a town hall discussion between Putrajaya residents and Dr Mahathir, says its communication director.
(FMT) – Putrajaya Amanah has suggested that former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad represent Pakatan Harapan in the contest for the Putrajaya seat in the 14th General Election (GE14).
In a statement issued today, its Communication Director Mohd Radzi Abu Bakar said Husam Musa, who had contested for the seat as PAS candidate in GE13, had also agreed that Dr Mahathir was the more suitable candidate of the two.
“Tun Mahathir is generally known as the ‘master planner and architect’ who succeeded in developing Putrajaya into a landmark of success in terms of Malaysia’s development,” said Mohd Radzi.
During the GE13, Husam contested for the Putrajaya seat under his former party PAS.
However, he only managed to secure 4,402 votes and lost to Umno’s Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, who garnered 9,943 votes.
Recently, the former PAS vice-president officially announced that he was joining PAS splinter party Amanah.
He made the long-awaited announcement during an Amanah Merdeka eve dinner hosted by Putrajaya Amanah.
Mohd Radzi said to help spread information among Putrajaya residents on Mahathir’s candidacy and other local issues, Amanah was willing to organise a dialogue in the form of a town hall discussion.
“In relation to that, we will be holding a dialogue between Putrajaya residents and Tun Mahathir soon.”
