Muhyiddin dares Najib to sue him
(The Star) – Former Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has dared the Prime Minister to sue him over his claims of corruption in 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
Muhyiddin, who had alleged that he had been told of RM2.6bil being in Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s personal account, said Najib should directly answer queries raised on 1MDB instead of depending on others to answer for him.
The Prime Minister’s press secretary Datuk Seri Tengku Sarifuddin Tengku Ahmad had returned fire on Tuesday, saying Muhyiddin’s disloyalty and naked ambition had led to his career ending in ignominy.
“Be a man,” Muhyiddin said in his statement yesterday challenging Najib to sue him.
He said the loss of his deputy premiership and the party’s deputy presidency was the price he had paid for demanding the truth.
“I went down fighting,” he said.
