(Malaysia Outlook) – A latest video on the current housing graft scandal that had rocked the Penang government had exposed that DAP lawmaker Lim Siew Khim knew all along about her father’s ‘corrupt ways’ since mid-last year.
Penang Gerakan vice chairman Oh Tong Keong said the Siew Khim had lied when she previously pledged innocence claiming that she knew nothing about her father’s ‘graft-y” works.
But, he said the second video, uploaded in Facebook news channel – Penang Kini on Friday late night, proved that Siew Khim knew that her father Lim Keat Seong had been soliciting bribes from potential house buyers to secure affordable homes in Penang.
As the elected representative of Sungai Pinang state constituency, he said Siew Khim should have informed the relevant enforcement agencies about her father’s corrupt practices.
“She had publicly lied when she knew her father’s corrupt ways since last year.
“Being an elected person to public office, she had neglected her statutory duty to report to relevant authorities on her father’s corrupt practices.
“By being quiet over the issue, Siew Khim had been guilty of covering up for her father.
“As a state representative, she should have protected public interests first, not her father’s interests,” Oh rebuked Siew Khim at a press conference at Penang Gerakan office in George Town on Saturday.
The second video, which had gone viral, showed telephone bills and Whatsapp text messages that allegedly implicated Siew Khim of being fully aware about her father’s wrongdoings.
The video revealed a telephone call made by a mediator to Siew Khim on June 26, 2015, demanding the elected representative to resolve a dispute between Keat Seong and a victim over the money paid to secure an affordable home in Penang.
