In turning to Anwar, Dr M scraping bottom of barrel, blogger claims

(MMO) – Blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has fired another salvo at Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, this time asserting that the former prime minister’s new allies will be the ones to “finish him off”.

“How ironical that (Dr) Mahathir is now depending on those people who he once betrayed. They have never forgiven him and they find it amusing that he is now turning to them for help.

“(Dr) Mahathir must really be naive if he thinks his enemies can just forgive him because they happen to share a common objective,” said Raja Petra in his latest blog, alluding to their open declaration to oust Datuk Seri Najib Razak as prime minister.

His comments come four days after Dr Mahathir went to court to meet his former nemesis Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Raja Petra named the former enemies whom Dr Mahathir had turned to as Tun Musa Hitam, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Anwar.

The blogger, who is now based in Britain, claimed that Dr Mahathir thinks these people were now allied to him, but “they are actually praying for the day that Najib finishes him off”.

Raja Petra also went on at length on how Dr Mahathir had used Anwar to sideline Tengku Razaleigh and Musa in the 1980s.

He also alleged that Dr Mahathir took Anwar into Umno then because he felt threatened by Tengku Razaleigh and Musa.

Raja Petra pointed out that in the early 1980s Musa was the Umno deputy president and was elected by the members, and not chosen by Dr Mahathir, while Tengku Razaleigh was the finance minister appointed by the previous prime minister Tun Hussein Onn.

This was why, Raja Petra claimed, Dr Mahathir brought in Anwar into Umno “as a watchdog” against the two and “not because he wanted to stop Anwar from joining PAS”.

Raja Petra also wrote about how the former prime minister got rid of Anwar by using information about Anwar’s alleged sexual deviancy.

“It was a trap (Dr) Mahathir laid even as far back as in the late 1980s and which he sprang only when Anwar made his move, a long ten years wait.

“So, if (Dr) Mahathir prepared his file on Anwar and sat on it for ten years, this can only mean (Dr) Mahathir never trusted Anwar from the very beginning and was just using Anwar to get rid of all his (Mahathir’s) threats and enemies — after which Anwar himself would be disposed off once the job is done and Anwar himself becomes a threat.

“Anwar knows this can and will happen a second time once he works with (Dr) Mahathir to oust Najib,” Raja Petra wrote.

He also claimed that Dr Mahathir’s presence in court on Monday as the former prime minister’s “lowest point where he had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to seek out the man he would rather is dead.”

“(Dr) Mahathir is now playing his last card. It is now either Anwar Ibrahim or nothing.”
