PKR will discuss with Anwar on forming alliance with PPBM
(The Sun Daily) – Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will discuss with its de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the party’s collaboration with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM).
PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the party needs to work with PPBM and thus needs to get Anwar’s endorsement.
“We need to work together and this needs Anwar’s approval,” Azmin, who is also the Selangor Mentri Besar said after he attended the Aidiladha prayers at Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque Bukit Jelutong here today.
On Sunday, PPBM pro-tem vice president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said he hoped the meeting between his father, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar last week can lead to official collaboration between both parties.
The former Kedah Mentri Besar said it is important for PKR to get Anwar’s endorsement to prove the party’s commitment in the collaboration.
On Sept 9, The Registrar of Societies (RoS) officially approved the registration of PPBM after a meeting between the RoS and PPBM’s founding members in Putrajaya.
PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin thanked the RoS and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for the registration, which was approved in the period of 30 days from the date of application.
Muhyiddin however stated that RoS stood by its position to not allow the party to be promoted as “Bersatu”, adding that amendments were also made to the party’s official logo.
PPBM is an Umno splinter party slated to fight Barisan Nasional in the next general election.
