“Silly” Jeff Ooi ticked off
Raja Sara Petra slammed Jeff Ooi for his racial slur against the late Pas spiritual leader Haron Din.
(Malaysia Outlook) – Jelutong MP Jeff Ooi Chuan Aun was “silly” for claiming that his Twitter account was hacked after his party, the DAP distanced itself from his racial slur against the late Haron Din.
Political commentator Raja Sara Petra said Jeff Ooi at first had tried to defend his slur against Haron, who passed away in the United States on Thursday.
But, she said only when his own party disagreed with his slur against Haron Din, did he change his story to say it was not him but hackers who did it.
“When DAP came out to distance itself from Jeff Ooi’s action, he suddenly turned around and claimed it was not him who posted that slur against Haron Din and that his Twitter account had been hacked.
“That is a very lame and silly excuse, which came too late,” said Sara, the daughter of prominent blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, better known as RPK.
Sara pointed out that Jeff Ooi hotly debated with blogger Lim Sian See (LSS) on FaceBook and Twitter regarding his insulting and racist remark “Adios Haron Din” that he posted on the day the PAS spiritual leader passed away.
At one stage, Jeff Ooi even made a premature declaration insisting that he had “won” the debate and commented that he would drink his 30-year-old whisky while dedicating the Eagles song, “Desperado”, to LSS.
The Chinese newspapers also reported this online exchange.
Some of Jeff Ooi’s responses to LSS were very personal in nature and had nothing to do with the issue.
Sara said this was not the first time Jeff Ooi had demonstrated racist tendencies and he was not the only DAP leader to do so.
“It is time Malaysians of all races wake up to DAP’s very dangerous game.
“DAP survives on Chinese support so they need to play this type of game.
“And yet they have the gall to accuse Barisan Nasional of race politics,” said Sara.
She warned that Pakatan Harapan had just lost a sizeable number of Malay votes because of what Jeff Ooi did.
“Haron Din was well respected even by non-PAS Malays and this is going to cost DAP dearly.”
Meanwhile, Perkasa demanded Jeff Ooi to apologise to Haron’s family and Muslims in general for his insult on the late PAS leader.
In a statement today, Perkasa’s Islamic Affairs bureau chairman Amini Amir Abdullah cautioned Jeff Ooi not to repeat such disrespectful comments.
“Haron was much-respected by Muslims at national and international levels.
“Jeff Ooi should apologise to Haron Din’s family and to Muslims for his disrespectful remarks,” said Amini.
He also advised all social media users, especially those on Facebook and twitter, to apologise and delete all improper postings and comments made on the death of the PAS spiritual leader.
Ooi’s tweet: “Adios Haron Din. Let there be peace’’, drew widespread condemnation from various parties including PAS and PKR.
