Selangor DAP unanimously supports for state snap polls
(Malaysia Outlook) – In an emergency meeting yesterday night, Selangor DAP has unanimously supported in holding a state election before the Election Commission (EC) gazettes the re-delineation for parliamentary and state seats reports The Star.
Selangor DAP chairman Tony Pua said the resolution in favour of a snap state was passed during the meeting.
“For those asking whether it should be done before or after the redelineation, it would be stupid to say after.
“Of course the final decision will be left to the Pakatan Harapan top leadership,” Pua told a press conference on Wednesday.
However, Pua said the call to hold a snap state election did not mean that it would materialise immediately.
“The re-delineation exercise would take eight months to a year to be passed, and by then we will be reaching a full term.
“We can call for a state election subject to the approval of the Sultan,” he added.
