Suit against Sarawak Report: PAS sends documents

(Bernama) – PAS has submitted all the relevant documents relating to the legal action against Sarawak Report to its lawyer, said PAS Secretary-General Takiyuddin Hassan.

He said the lawyer would study the documents and additional documents would be provided if needed.

“Among the documents given to the lawyer two days ago were counter-statements denying (the allegation) from PAS leaders, including President Abdul Hadi Awang,” he said when met here today.

Recently, the London-based news portal alleged that PAS had received RM90 million from Prime Minister Najib Razak, who is also Umno president, causing anger among PAS members, with some lodging police reports for the allegation to be investigated.

(Malaysiakini, 8 August 2016) – Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown has clarified that the claim that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had wooed PAS with RM90 million was merely a “widespread suspicion”.

This is after PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man earlier today cried foul over the allegation, which was published in a commentary on Sarawak Report last Saturday.

However, Brown said she reported the suspicion as such on her website, and insisted that such allegations had indeed been widespread.
