Seeking unity, Muhyiddin urges PAS to sit with Opposition allies (VIDEO)
(MMO) – Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin reached out to PAS last night to formalise a grand Opposition coalition “as soon as possible” before the 14th general election due in 2018.
With his eye on the clock, the former deputy prime minister turned Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) pro-tem president called on the Opposition parties to “sit at the same table” immediately to disprove their disunity to the Barisan Nasional (BN) ruling coalition.
“They think the Opposition is not united, that we are fighting each other, so they want to hold an election as soon as possible,” he said in his speech at a PAS-organised event in Kemaman, Terengganu last night.
A video of his speech from the event was posted on his official Facebook account later.
“We have to start sitting together, either through a formal coalition or an electoral pact. The time has come. The ground is fertile,” the Pagoh MP added.
He said he had met PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man recently to discuss a possible cooperation, but did not disclose the outcome of their talks.
