Mahathir offer ‘dedak’ to make son PM
(Malaysia Outlook) – Mahathir Mohamad is now making promises of oil royalties to the people of Kelantan because he is attempting to lure PAS supporters to join onto his swiftly sinking and desperate cause.
Of course making promises only follows suite to what has been a continuous attempt on Mahathir’s part to drum up support before the next national poll (GE14).
After having drained 1MDB saga as long as he could, Mahathir next move was to repent and say sorry for a few of those wrongs he has committed.
In doing this, he would like the people to have believed that he embarked on that path based on a reflective life’s episode in his part.
However, many have seen Mahathir’s actions of late as just another ploy to try to win support for cause.
Mahathir probably thought that his forgiveness tour would provide him a sympathetic audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, but the Agong is much to wise to be finagled but the likes of Mahathir.
I am also reasonably sure Mahathir’s comments about the Agong being held prisoner did not help his cause; that and not being able to state categorically that million signatures were in fact authentic when he had an audience with the Agong.
Mahathir had to know that even if the one million signatures were valid, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong knows the difference between one million and the more than thirty (million) that makes up the population in Malaysia.
The numbers are not even close enough to warrant a recount!
It is said that when a person is desperate they do not think logically; if nothing else, Mahathir finally having an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, only to waste the Agong’s time further demonstrated that Mahathir was and is not thinking rationally or logically.
Let’s move on; not too long after having failed to convince the Agong, Mahathir next move was his statement that he was burying the hatchet with Anwar Ibrahim.
Could that be a euphemism for saying that he will bury the hatchet in Anwar’s back!
Here is an Interesting side note; Mahathir in his serenading of Anwar Ibrahim never said that Anwar was innocent even though that wad how Anwar wanted people near and far to interpret his and Mahathir’s love fest.
It is well known that both Mahathir and Anwar like to play with words.
