Rahman Dahlan slams Husni over 1MDB-related questions
(The Star) – Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan has slammed Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah over his questions on 1MDB in Parliament, saying the former finance minister should “have some dignity”.
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said Husni was going back on his word.
“When you change your mind on your political leanings, at the very least, have some dignity.
“Don’t shoot your own foot. He was responsible for it (1MDB) then,” he said.
Abdul Rahman also said it was “ironic” that Husni was now disagreeing with his own decision.
“1MDB was under his jurisdiction and he used to answer the same way we have answered,” he said.
Rahman Dahlan, who is also Kota Belud MP, then pointed out that Parliament Standing Orders state that an individual cannot mislead the house.
“You can’t say ‘A’ first and now change it to ‘B’. You can’t say it’s not right, that means you are misleading Parliament,” he said.
Abdul Rahman also clarified that 1MDB has given many briefs to Cabinet members, which were prepared by Husni himself when he was with the Finance Ministry.
“In the brief itself, on the last page, Husni said those with questions could fill up a form and that he would address them,” Abdul Rahman said.
At Parliament on Monday, Husni, who is Tambun MP, said even if Barisan Nasional won the next general election, the country could still face economic repercussions if the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) issue was not handled properly.
