Red Shirts storms Malaysiakini building to demand explanation on foreign funding
(Malaysia Outlook) – Red Shirts movement leader Jamal Yunos stormed online news portal Malaysiakini’s building with some 50 supporters to demand for an explanation on its foreign funding.
The Red Shirts leader set a dateline until noon tomorrow for the explanation when met by Malaysiakini’s editor-in-chief Steven Gan accompanied by news editors RK Anand and Jimadie Shah Othman.
“If by then we do not get an explanation, 20,000 of us will gather here and we will ensure that part of this building will collapse,” said Jamal at the Malaysiakini’s office in Petaling Jaya yesterday afternoon.
Steven questioned Jamal if he was going to destroy the building physically to which Jamal answered it was up to them (Malaysiakini) on their interpretation of what he said.
“I did not say destroy, you are the one who said it, I just said it will collapse.
“How it will collapse, I wouldn’t know,” Jamal answered Steven sarcastically.
Jamal, when met outside the building said, the Red Shirts were against ‘brokers’ of foreign influences such as Malaysiakini and Bersih 2.0.
“We are sick and tired of Bersih 1,2, 3 and 4.
“Now Bersih 5 trying to poison the people’s mind to topple a democratically elected Prime Minister,” he said.
