Penang DAP forms election committee ahead of GE14
(The Star) – Penang DAP is gearing up for the next general election and has formed an election campaign committee headed by state party secretary Lim Hui Ying (pic).
In his speech during the Penang DAP convention at Vistana Hotel on Sunday, state party chairman Chow Kon Yeow said special attention was being given to beef up its social media machinery.
“The party has approved more resources into this department in view of its importance in reaching the people,” he said, adding that they had to be strong to face alleged attacks against the state government.
Chow also said the party had embarked on a programme called “Listening Tours” for party leaders, assemblymen and MPs to visit constituencies in the state.
“They will be able to hear out the people and mobilise resources to help the people overcome their problems,” he said.
Hui Ying is the younger sister of DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, and has never contested in elections before.
