Najib airs Superman’s ‘Malays screw Malays’ video at AGM

(The Star) – A controversial video of a former DAP member urging Sarawakians to “screw the Malays” was aired during Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s speech at the party’s Annual General Assembly on Saturday.

The screening of the Chinese-language video, which was taken at the time of the Sarawak polls earlier this year, was used as a move to back Umno’s claim that DAP is anti-Malay.

In the video, Hew Kuan Yew (pic) or “Superman Hew” was calling for the support of DAP Batu Kitang candidate Abdul Aziz Isa, bringing up the “Malays screw the Malays” statement.

A second clip of Hew, believed to be from September, was also shown mid-way through Najib’s speech.

(The Star) – In the latter video, Hew said that DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang was using former prime minister and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Pribumi) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to end Najib’s political career.

He said they were saving Mahathir who would be used as an instrument to bring down Najib.

“Those on the other side are using one another. There’s no need for me to say who is using who,” said Najib during his winding up speech at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on Saturday, before airing the clips.

Hew, who was given his moniker for his fondness of clothes bearing the superhero emblem, resigned from DAP in July over a Facebook posting regarding China’s claim over the South China Sea.
