How come only now Mahathir knew all about DAP?
(Malaysia Outlook) – A political observer is amused that Pribumi chairman Mahathir Mohamad only knew today “all the good things” about DAP despite being in politics for umpteen years
At 91, Azizi Safar (pic) said Mahathir was 41 years old when the DAP was formed 50 years ago, adding that the Pribumi leader was also the country’s prime minister for 22 years (1981-2003).
“It’s comical, strange and difficult to believe that Mahathir for past 50 years did not know anything about DAP – that the party’s anthem is in Bahasa Malaysia and it has members of various ethnic groups.
“Mahathir is simply amazing,” a bemused Azizi posted in Facebook today.
Azizi said the former premier was also for years in charge of the Home Ministry, and the police special branch by extension, military intelligence, and other intelligence units in the country.
Therefore, he said it was shocking that Mahathir did not know everything about DAP like how he knew so many things that others were unaware of.
Azizi pointed out that once Mahathir had regarded Singapore as his personal auld enemy.
Singapore is ruled by PAP, which he said gave birth to DAP after the island republic left Malaysia.
“Will Mahathir change his tune on Singapore also? Will he now say that his views all the while on Singapore were wrong?” asked Azizi.
