Tunku Aziz demands apology from Media Prima chair over ‘lies’
(MMO) – Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim reiterated today that Media Prima Berhad chairman Datuk Seri Fateh Iskandar Mohamed Mansor apologise for allegedly lying to the prime minister about a drop in TV3’s ratings.
Tunku Abdul Aziz said in an article on news site Malaysia Outlook that Fateh Iskandar had misled Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on November 28, by falsely claiming that Tunku Abdul Aziz had made a dozen consecutive appearances in October and November on the TV station and that those appearances had caused the ratings to plunge to “dangerously low” levels.
“After abusing my name to tell lies and mislead the prime minister on November 28, 2016 about my 12 appearances on TV3 that I was supposed to have made in a row which caused the plunge in its ratings, in his statement of December 13, he tried to mislead the public by accusing me of trying to undermine what he claimed to be the close working relationships between the personnel of the different entities within the Media Prima Group,” said Tunku Abdul Aziz.
“Iskandar has in his statement conveniently avoided responding to the key issue I raised in my article that he on November 28, 2016, lied and misled the prime minister of Malaysia by dragging my name to spin his web of lies to serve his own diabolical agenda.
“Therefore, let me reiterate that my demand for a public apology from him in terms and form of words that I approve of still remains,” added the former DAP leader.
Tunku Abdul Aziz said he had only appeared three times on TV3 in October and November and he didn’t think that his three appearances could “bring the mighty TV3 to its knees”.
