Dr M using Opposition to return to power, says Nur Jazlan
(The Star) – Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is only using the Opposition to get himself back into a position of power, says Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.
He said the veteran politician knows that the Opposition does not have a viable candidate for prime minister if it were to win in the next general election.
“The only one (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) is in jail so Tun M will end up recommending Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin or his son,” he said in a press conference after unveiling the new signboard for the Johor Baru Hainan Association on Saturday.
Advising voters in Johor to think about the future, the Deputy Home Minister said the state was going through rapid development.
Nur Jazlan, who is also Pulai MP, said Johoreans should be practical and focus on long-term benefits instead of finding fault with everything the Government does.
He added that the rapid growth in Johor has been contributed to by foreign investors who came to the state mainly due to the fact that it was Barisan Nasional-led.
“These large Chinese companies want to work with us and that is why they choose Johor and not Penang or some other city,” he said.
