Stop talking about PM candidates and show us your policies, minister tells Pakatan
(MMO) – The federal opposition should quit making political remarks such as their candidates for prime minister and instead seek to convince voters by coming out with alternative policies, minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said today.
Abdul Rahman, who is also the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition’s strategic communications director, said the public was fed up with Pakatan Harapan opposition coalition’s remarks that were now allegedly all political in nature, including who could be prime minister or deputy prime minister from their ranks.
“Now Malaysians need policy statements, what are their economic policies, what are their education policies, what are their foreign policies and so on that can differentiate them from Barisan Nasional?
“But the statements that come out from Tun Mahathir, Muhyiddin, Lim Kit Siang are all revolving around position,” the minister in the prime minister’s department told reporters here.
Abdul Rahman said the joint policy of Pakatan Harapan is still unclear, adding that it is unknown if they could even agree on matters involving the Bumiputera community.
The opposition should show their alternative economic policies if they truly want to capture the public’s hearts, he said.
“I think at the moment, the people are fed up of political statements every day, if they want, produce an alternative and together we will see if their policy is better than Barisan Nasional’s,” he said.
