(The Star) – PAS will not work with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia as the party is allies with DAP and Parti Amanah Negara, says Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

“We have a simple principle and that is to not work with any party that has relationships with DAP or Amanah. We have already made a decision that we will not cooperate – even with their allies. So there is no need to wait for a month. When they work with Amanah and DAP, then its over,” he said at an event in Ampang on Sunday.

Hadi was responding to questions on Pribumi chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad giving PAS one month to decide whether the party would join the Pakatan Harapan opposition pact in the run-up to the 14th general election.

On whether PAS would consider meeting leaders from Pribumi to discuss the issue, Hadi reiterated that it would not be necessary if the latter wanted to maintain ties with DAP and Amanah.

“Even for PKR, we will make a decision soon. The fact is, we are open to all and if it is strictly political, I would not mind, but both these parties (DAP and Amanah) are talking about RUU 355 (Hadi’s Private Member’s Bill which seeks to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act).  That is one line you should not cross,” he said.

On Saturday, Dr Mahathir said PAS would need to make a decision on joining the Opposition pact within one month.
