The DAP’s Latest Acquisition (Zaid Ibrahim) Fails Just Like His Predecessors!
(Malaysian Observer) – Zaid Ibrahim joining the DAP just before the PAS Himpunan 355 rally was supposed to be an attracting force for the DAP led opposition to show Malays that Lim Kit Siang and the DAP were their friends.
Zaid Ibrahim who is just the latest DAP acquisition spoke at the “Himpunan Rakyat Tolak Usul Hadi” counter rally. It seems that his doing so was supposed to legitimize the claim that Act 355 was not good for Muslims and non Muslims alike. Unfortunately, for Lim Kit Siang and the DAP, having Zaid as part of the DAP equation was as effective as having Amanah, Tun Mahathir and the other despots who were acquired and loosely inserted into the DAP-led opposition pact.
As seen with Amanah and Tun Mahathir, Zaid Ibrahim’s presence and message were and are not strong enough to pull in any significant crowd numbers. In other words whatever hash-tag Lim Kit Siang and the DAP come up with, it fails to resonate with their target audience; the Malays.
In fact, given the lack of crowd numbers at the Act 355 counter rally, the DAP message (and many believe that it was their message), did not find a footing within the Chinese community as well.
Perhaps non Muslims are realizing that Hadi Awang’s Act 355 does not affect their lives in the way the purveyors of doom try to spin it .
Then again, with so many rallies (‘Save Malay’, ‘The People’s Congress’ and Bersih), people are either burnt out on rallies or have wised up to the various agenda’s that are at work within the DAP-led opposition.
Whichever the case, Lim Kit Siang and the DAP cannot make a legitimate case for why so few showed up to the counter rally; conversely according to PAS, 300,000 came out to support Act 355.
Of course Lim Kit Siang and the DAP will say that they were no were near the rally, but one does not have to be there when their proxy is there.
