Kit Siang, is your son driving the DAP towards committing hara-kiri?

Dear Kit Siang,

For quite a while, businessmen within the island state of Penang have been airing their grouses to me regarding the preponderant attitudes displayed by members of the Penang state government, particularly those directly aligned to your son, Lim Guan Eng.

Some of these grouses pertain to his leadership style, while others relate to councillors who come under the exclusive purview of the state government. One in particular relates to a move by the local government to limit parking spaces within tourist hotspots on the island state while extending the hours for parking fees collection by council workers.

Now, isn’t it a tad bit peculiar that your son’s administration seems inclined to shoo tourists away from Penang? And isn’t it ironical that businesses affected by these policies are Chinese run? Is Guan Eng driving the DAP towards committing hara-kiri in Penang or is he just plain dumb?

Don’t just take my word for it, Kit Siang. I know for a fact that you are about to ditch your constituents in Gelang Patah to contest a seat in Penang. Well, it is high time then that you took a drive up to the island state and cruised along Persiaran Gurney, Upper Penang Road, Fettes Park and Campbell Street. See for yourself the ‘marvel’ that is your son’s administration and try to make some sense of it.

Once you’re done doing that, please help Penangites make sense of it too by explaining to them the basis to the state’s decision to limit parking spaces along the stretches I named above. Please help them understand what made the state administration extend the duration for parking fees collection right up to midnight and public holidays.

As a matter of fact, some businesses along Persiaran Gurney have noted how the reduction in the number of parking lots may have benefited the developer of Gurney Paragon, Hunza Properties Berhad. Is there something going on, some deal that may have been negotiated through the kitchen door that Malaysians ought to know about?

I assure you that my team is working hard to get to the bottom of things. Until then, we do hope that your son comes to his senses and works towards reversing these ridiculous policies and practices that are sure to cost the DAP votes come the next general election. Either he gets his act right or resigns from his post as Chief Minister of Penang.

And assuming that you do get your son to rectify the situation, I assure you, my team will let bygones be bygones. Take my word for it. The Third Force never lies.

Regards,

The Third Force
