Pakatan Harapan welcomes Pribumi into its fold
(The Star) – Pakatan Harapan has officially welcomed Pribumi into the Opposition pact.
The decision was unanimously made at a meeting of the Pakatan presidential council on Monday.
Pribumi – which is helmed by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad – will now be registered as a member of the Opposition pact.
“The Pakatan Harapan secretariat will issue a letter to Pribumi informing them of our decision,” said the council in a statement jointly signed by PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
“The meeting today also agreed to organise an immediate discussion among all four parties to form a joint manifesto and also create a new logo,” the council added.
Dr Mahathir, who is Pribumi chairman, announced last week that the party would join the Opposition in a formal pact.
