Umno leader accuses Rafizi of wild claims

(MMO) – Pandan MP Rafizi Ramil’s claim that a person linked to PAS received funds from a state-owned firm is baseless and politically motivated, said Umno’s Datuk Seri Irmohizam Ibrahim.

The Umno supreme council member accused the opposition lawmaker of a penchant for inciting the public against rivals using unverified or misleading information.

“His claim to have evidence that funds were channelled to an individual close to the PAS leadership is purely a political attack,” he said in a statement.

The claim was aimed at baiting rivals, said the Kuala Selangor MP.

Irmohizam added he was certain Rafizi will continue with such antics, and said he did not want the public to be fooled.

Rafizi claimed on Thursday to possess evidence that a state-owned firm gave money to an unnamed person he categorised as “close” to PAS.
