Ezam’s Parti Bebas Rasuah allegedly stolen from someone else
(Malaysia Outlook) – The Parti Bebas Rasuah (Corruption Free Party or PBR), headed by former PKR stalwart Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor, seems was “stolen” from someone else.
The New Generation Party (New Gen Party) president G. Kumaar Aaman has claimed that his party was “hijacked” and renamed Parti Bebas Rasuah without his knowledge, let alone his consent.
Kumaar denied to have ever agreed to change his party name, nor to support the opposition bloc, Pakatan Harapan.
“I have been a loyalist to Barisan Nasional and support the leadership of Prime Minister Najib Razak.,” he told a press conference in Seri Pacific Hotel in Kuala Lumpur today.
“Truth is my party was stolen and renamed without my knowledge,” he told a press conference in Seri Pacific Hotel in Kuala Lumpur today.
PBR secretary-general S. Gobi Krishnan announced late last month that the New Gen Party has changed its name to Parti Bebas Rasuah.
Kumaar said that Gobi had hijacked the party and supported the opposition bloc for his personal gains, revealing that secretary-general had already been suspended and no longer had the authority to act on behalf of the party.
Gobi was suspended for allegedly violating Article 10 of New Gen Party’s constitution.
“He has misappropriated party’s fund for his personal gains,” disclosed Kumaar.
In his announcement, Gobi revealed that the PBR president was Ezam while the deputy president was Khairuddin Abu Hassan, formerly from Pribumi.
Gobi also announced that Syed Nazarudin Syed Aziz and A. Rajaretinam had been made PBR vice presidents.
