Remember when DAP leaders quit over their sex affairs?

(Tanjak) – Nope, you probably can’t remember any DAP leader quitting because he cheated on his wife. Why would they bother knowing that the party’s rabid supporters will never hold any DAP politician accountable for his conduct?

Politicians from PAP (the DAP’s ‘parent’ party), however, have done so because PAP is obviously more disciplined than its offshoot.

Singapore Parliament Speaker Michael Palmer of the PAP ruling party resigned a fortnight before Christmas after being caught in an extramarital affair.

“My conduct was improper and it was a serious error of judgment. I have resigned in order to avoid further embarrassment to the PAP and to Parliament,” Palmer had told a press conference on 12 Dec 2012.

MCA’s Chua Soi Lek did in fact resign over his sex tape. But will an elected rep from DAP quit his plummy position over any sexual indiscretion? Lee Hwa Beng is right — most likely not.

Below is former Subang Jaya Adun Lee’s tweet about the Speaker’s saucy news. He is an ex-MCA Yang Berhormat.

So what ‘Ubah’ or positive change as promised by DAP has been brought to the ‘same old, some old’ politics?

Just as it is with the endless Christian preachiness of the Dapsters, the moral bullying by Singapore’s Papsters (supporters of PAP) turned around and bit them in the arse over the Palmer problem.

Only a few months earlier, the Papsters were mocking and spitting venom at rival Workers Party treasurer Yaw Shin Leong over rumours of his extramarital affair with a fellow party member.

In February 2012, the Workers Party of Singapore expelled Yaw and triggered a by-election in the Hougang constituency where he was the member of parliament.

Yaw then left the island republic abruptly after his expulsion and is now living in Myanmar.

Last year, another PAP parliamentarian resigned suddenly after the husband of a woman he was allegedly having an affair with went public.

MP David Ong resigned his Bukit Batok seat in March 2016 after details of his extramarital affair with a fellow party member came to light. Ong told the press he deeply regretted his “personal indiscretion”.

That’s the PAP. What about the DAP?
