Ezam: once a thief always a thief
And that was why all Anwar’s gatekeepers ended up as millionaires after only one or two years. And Ezam is no less a millionaire himself. And he is still collecting money left, right and centre. Yet he wants to save a few thousand by stealing other people’s party and then faking the EGM and forging the signatures of the attendees to the EGM. What a bloody cheapskate. This is called penny-wise-pound-foolish.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

We had recently written about this matter, which you can read here:
Is Daim behind Parti Bebas Rasuah?
Ezam scams his party sponsor, yet again
Yesterday, the real party president of NewGen Party came out with a statement asking Ezam Mohd Nor to contest for the post of party president instead of stealing the party. It appears like Ezam is the self-appointed party leader just like Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Muhyiddin Yassin, Mukhriz Mahathir, Shafie Apdal, etc., are also self-appointed party leaders.
The only thing is the others formed their own parties so that they can become party leaders while Ezam did not even bother to do that. He just went and stole someone else’s party. And he stole this party not long after he joined PPBM a.k.a. Pribumi, which he joined after he resigned from Umno, which he joined after he left PKR, which he joined after he left Umno.
The conflict in the top PKR leadership is not just about politics but about Nurul’s alleged affairs as well
The talk amongst Ezam’s circle is that he left PKR after Nurul Izzah Anwar turned down his offer for marriage (or because she got married). Those close to Ezam, such as his close friends and confidantes — such as Azmin Ali and Lokman Noor Adam — say he just wanted Nurul as his mistress and not as his wife. The other story is that Anwar Ibrahim screwed Ezam kau-kau for having an affair with this daughter — so Ezam merajuk (sulk) and left PKR to join Umno.
Anyway, whichever might be the real story, the matter became ‘hot news’ again when it was rumoured that Ezam was going to leave Umno. The story was, since Nurul was now divorced, Ezam was going back to PKR to continue his affair with Nurul. Luckily, a few months later, Ezam did not return to PKR but instead joined PPBM. If not then everyone would say the story about Ezam’s and Nurul’s affair is true after all (actually Lokman and Azmin both say it is true that they were having an affair).
When the 12 PKR leaders joined Umno in February 2004, Ezam did not follow them because he wanted his terms to first be met, which was a cabinet post. When the Prime Minister would not give him that cabinet post he stayed back in PKR. It was not until four years later in May 2008 that Ezam finally joined Umno when they agreed to give him a Senatorship and a sizeable ‘budget’. (All this was during Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s time, of course).
Ezam and Azmin in better days when one was Gatekeeper 1 and the other Gatekeeper 2
But then that is Ezam. He and Azmin were notorious back when Anwar was the Deputy Prime Minister cum Finance Minister from 1993 to 1998. At that time Ezam and Azmin were known as Gatekeeper 1 and Gatekeeper 2. One gatekeeper controlled the gate in the Prime Minister’s Department while the other controlled the gate in the Finance Ministry.
Those in the banking and corporate world in the 1990s knew about this and it was commonly discussed whenever businessmen met to talk shop and compare notes. Those who were in the Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (MCCM) — and even those in the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) — will know the story of the 1990s when Anwar had power of life and death over businessmen.
Of course, Anwar will feign ignorance and will say he did not know what was happening around him or what mischief his people were getting up to. But all those who are anybody in the banking and corporate world know about Anwar’s gatekeepers, Ezam and Azmin included but not confined to only those two (many would remember Nasaruddin Jalil, Sarit Jusoh, Dr Ibrahim Saad, etc., who were also Anwar’s gatekeepers).
In fact, Edmund Terence Gomez and K. S. Jomo wrote about Nasaruddin in their book, Malaysia’s Political Economy: Politics, Patronage and Profits. And Anwar was fully aware of the deals Nasaruddin was doing plus his link to Yahya Ahmad (mentioned in the excerpt from the book below).
Nasaruddin became a millionaire as one of Anwar’s gatekeepers
Anyway we are straying from the subject. The point is everyone who is anyone knew about Anwar’s gatekeepers (and if you did not know that means you are nobody and not worth wasting time with). The office of the Deputy Prime Minister cum Finance Minister was a very lucrative office. And you never got to meet Anwar unless you first get past his gatekeepers.
To get past the gatekeepers there is a toll charge, and not cheap, mind you. If you succeed in getting Anwar to approve what you want then there is another commission to be paid. And, as Edmund Terence Gomez and K. S. Jomo revealed above, if the project is very, very lucrative, then it may also involve shares and a directorship in the company.

NewGen president calls out Ezam’s bid to ‘steal’ party presidency
(NST, 29 April 2017) – New Generation Party (NewGen Party) president Datuk G. Kumaar Aaman has challenged Datuk Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor to run for the party president’s post instead of ‘stealing’ it.
“I want to tell Ezam that if he wants my post as NewGen Party president, then he should contest in the party election instead of ‘stealing’ it through lies and falsifications.”
“Many of my friends have called me up saying this is the first they have heard of someone wanting to steal a political post and party,” said Kumaar in a statement today.
NewGen Party was purportedly renamed by now suspended secretary-general S. Gobi Krishnan last month. He had announced that the party was now called Parti Bebas Rasuah (PBR).
Ezam, who was a former Umno, PKR and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia member, was appointed as PBR president.
Kumaar said claims that PBR held an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) at a shop selling tiles on Jalan Ipoh had made Ezam a ‘national laughing stock’.
“This is very funny and if I were Ezam, I would be ashamed of myself and retire from politics immediately.”
Earlier this month, the Registrar of Societies (RoS) found that the EGM had never taken place, and that no one had bought or rented the shop in question over the past year.
“I urge the RoS to immediately take action against Ezam under the Societies Act 1966. Such an undignified individual should be stopped from getting involved in politics,” said Kumaar.
Kumaar had recently lodged a police report and filed a complaint with the RoS, alleging that Ezam had contravened the party’s constitution and RoS regulations.
He had said Gobi was suspended as secretary-general last month for breaching the party’s constitution and for appointing a new committee without notifying the president.
He had also claimed Ezam had attempted to change the name of the party without the knowledge and agreement of the 300 party members.
Kumaar has been president since March 16 last year. The party was registered in September 2013.
